Ghana is the Best

I'm finally here after all of this preparing! we got in last night after our tiring day of flying and sleeping on the Amsterdam airport floor like a bunch of crazy hippies. We got to the salvation army and settled in after i tripped getting into the back of Jacksons truck and cutting open my toe. Dammit. I honestly love this. It's just so great, it's the best for me. Me and Chelsea were falling asleep and everyone was ignoring all the noise outside to go to sleep but we coulnd't ignore how random and hilarious the things that were going on outside and were laughing so hard! There was a symphony practicing downstairs so loudly and just outside our door a bunch of football players were yelling and laughing. It got even better when a man decided to sit just under our window and read to himself outloud. We were the crazy white girls giggling and peeking out the window, running away and doing it again.Everything here is great, i'm enjoying every part and knowing that everyone home would love this. There are bad parts here too but just like anything, in order for me to fully understand and come to terms with everything i have to love Ghana's light and dark parts.

Cheers to loving our light and dark parts!

Hey my sweet little girl,
Wow, look at you in Ghana trying to take on the world. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you at home and miss your laughter and your beautiful smile. Embrace every opportunity you get to make a difference. How lucky you are to be living in the real world and getting a glimpse of what's really important in life. I'm so very proud of you and miss you so much. Love Mom

Hey my darling,
Just checking in and hoping your still making a difference over in Ghana. Yesterday was a sad day in Ottawa as we lost Ryan Kerrigan to his fight against cancer but not before he married his long time love Morgan Stebbing. I have sent your condelences along with ours to Maria and the girls. Everyone misses you more each day your gone and can't wait to see that beautiful smile when you come back home. The girls of Basic 6 say hi and come home soon. Love you Mom
